Excellent transport links to central London and Olympic venues.

Lovely period house right beside beautiful Brockwell Park, in leafy residential area between funky Brixton and smart Dulwich village.

This is a lovely family house with a 'shabby chic' English/French decorative style, with full bookshelves and individual paintings and lighting, that will appeal to those wanting a place that feels like a real home and not a commercial rental.

The beauty of this house is its location in a quiet residential road with free parking on the roadside, just a few steps to gorgeous Brockwell Park, with its historic mansion and mature trees and hills, giving it a countryside feel despite only being only half an hour from the centre of London.

The house is a quiet, end-of-terrace Edwardian building. Downstairs there's a spacious kitchen/ dining room, with an electric oven, gas hob and dishwasher, and a lovely oak table that extends to sit 8. There's a separate utility room with washing machine and drying rails; a cloakroom; and a sitting room with doors opening on to patio and garden. Large flat screen TV (Freeview channels) and DVD player.

Upstairs is a large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and an extra single bed; a single room, a smaller double room and a shower room.

Things to do nearby

We are one minute from the entrance to Brockwell Park, with its huge outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, gym, 5km running circuit and cafe. Perfect location for families.

Great transport links, only 40 mins from Herne Hill to Olympic park or Greenwich. 5 mins bus ride to Brixton tube, with the Victoria Line to Oxford Circus in 20 mins, Waterloo and Southbank of Thames in 25 mins, equally close to the Olympic events at Horse Guards, Hyde Park, The Mall, etc.

Herne Hill train station is just 10 minutes walk through the park (or a 5 min bus ride), and then overland train via St Pancras (20 min) to Stratford International (5 min from St P) for the Olympic Park, totalling 40 minutes. It's equally well situated for Greenwich and other venues, but also a great place to stay in/come back to in the long summer evenings and enjoy local bars, gastro pubs and park life (for children there's a new playground and splash pool area, plus a BMX track, as well as all the sporting facilities). Great pubs, shops and restaurants in the village areas of Herne Hill and Dulwich, and more urban, funky Brixton, with its brilliant Ritzy cinema.
