About my listing

The house is set behind a block of flats so it is very quiet private and peaceful. The decor is contemporary - clean modern spaces mixed with Asian antiques and original art my own and from friends. The top floor-large double bedroom has a beamed high ceiling two sets of french doors leading to juliette balconies two skylights and two more windows in the open plan ensuite bathroom. The shower and tub large sink and loo with bum wash are all very high spec European design. There is lots of storage space for toiletries etc as well as large wardrobe spaces. Totally private - there is a door at the bottom of the stairs - making this a very quiet and beautiful contemporary abode. All the linen is 100% cotton and all the pillows are anti allergy. The middle floor of the house is my studio - messy filled with colourful bits that will eventually become collages - and a bedroom where my love of all things Chinese is displayed in a somewhat over the top style. There is a ensuite shower room and a laundry area with a Miele washer and Miele dryer. The ground floor is a big open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room that leads to the courtyard garden. There is a spiral staircase that leads to a small terrace and a large flat roof; when the sun decides to shine in London it is easily accessible. There is a bbq and a sink in the garden so when the weather is good it becomes an beautiful extension of the kitchen. I am an interior designer who also runs a cooking school so the kitchen has been designed to very high specification and it is often used for photo shoots cooking classes and product tasting sessions. The garden is filled with herbs and the cupboards are filled with ingredients from all over the world. Battersea is a fantastic village like neighbourhood with Central London a five minute train ride away. The Northcote Road - known locally as Nappy Valley - is teeming with families and children during the day shopping at the market stalls boutiques and food shops. At night the street becomes a hopping dinner/club/bar scene. There are fabulous restaurants lining the street and even more on St Johns Hill. The house is located on a hill just between Northcote Road and St Johns Hill. It is a five minute walk to Clapham junction Station. A fifteen minute walk to the river. The location is very green with a common right across from the front door a large victorian cemetery on one corner of the block and a huge park - Wandsworth Common - just down the road. It is a very foodie area; many celebrity chefs make this area their home: levi roots ed baines maria elia gordon ramsey and the standard of food in the local restaurants is fantastic.
